Make plans for this Saturday

Carol Bradley, a huge dog-lover and puppy-mill crusader, will be in Knoxville this Saturday to discuss her new book Saving Gracie. Shiva the Red Dog commands you to go see her and take all your friends with you! It will be big fun and may be of help for our community and state. WOOF!

Hole Patrol

A key component to every Red Dog walk involves the unending quest to find the lair of the ever-elusive "Pink," the neighborhood feral cat. Often little more than a flash of fur or a ghostly feline apparition, Pink has become an near-obsession for Shiva and a subject of daily inquest. Few photos exist of the quarry, and those that do resemble the shadowy Sasquatch images from the Pacific Northwest. Note Exhibit A:

There is no way you will EVER catch me, you slobbering dog...

The challenge has been set before her, and the Red Dog will not give up until she has come nose-to-nose with her petite obsession...let's just hope that never happens!

Where to begin? How about where it all started...





After our initial inspection, we move on to the next point of ingress/egress for our little yeti...

Curses...foiled again! Maybe now would be a good time to hop back the way we came to check the holes one more time...

Anatomy of a walk, part II

Once in the park, the fun begins! The first thing we do is pause at the Red Dog's Thinking Spot to gaze upon the lovely waters. Then we're off to the Red Dog's Tree for more serene views of nature...


This marks the contemplative portion of our daily journey, where we take-in the beauty of the river and all its glory while enjoying each others' company...











Even a bad day on the water is better than any day most anywhere else.





After basking in nature for a while, we begin our journey home. This usually takes some time, as Shiva needs to take frequent rests due to her three-legged status.

This is our view as we begin to leave the park...


Once we make our way to the street, it's time for the long trek home. This is what the hill looks like from the bottom...






After making it part-way up, it's time to stop for a rest...





Up, up, up the hill we go...until finally we arrive, almost to our destination...






Once more, we look to the left...



and then to the right...



before hopping across the road...arriving right where we want to be...home!
